i have a few questions that hopefully you may be able to answer. i have a 81 gmc shortbed stepside that currently has the original 305 v8 in it. well, obviously that is not enough power so i decided to buy a 350 to put in it. i got a 350 4 bolt main bored .060 over. today i am having the block cleaned and repainted and my new project will begin. my question is what type of cam, heads, intake will work best for what i am trying to do. i have some experience with engines but i am just the average joe...i do not know what will get the best performance out of this engine. this will be a play truck that i may run occasionally at the dragstrip for fun but mostly will be for play. i cannot spend my life savings on this but i would like to be able to turn heads when i drive by and run a decent 1/8th mile. thank you for any advice you can give.
