Is there any kind of filler that you can use that with will work under chrome. I want to shave all the holes in my back bumper which they dont offer in a version without the trim holes and I want to shave the plate box as well. I am just wondering if there is anything to help smooth it all out or if I just have to do it all with metal.

oh i gotcha, i though you just wanter to shave your chrome bumpers..... I would imagine you would have to use all metal for the chrome to work on it

You should use metal (steel) to get it as close as you can. Copper is used as a filler to smooth out the metal in the chroming process, but you don't want to get that too thick. I've heard silver is also used to fill in small pits during the copper process.
