I have a question in regards to the wheels on a 2004 2wd Chevy Silverado 1500. What I want to do is locate a set of steel 'smoothie' rims for my truck which can be placed in a set of Coker 3" w/w radials for a classic 'bobber' ratrod look. I know it can be done as I have seen one other '04 on the road that had my same idea. I would like to stay with the 16" rim but have yet to find a mfg. US Wheel offers them in a 15" but according to Wheel Vintiques, you can't run any steel wheel other than the factory rims on the new '04 trucks? Am I missing something that happened in the last couple of years with these trucks? I was under the impression they were std. 6 X 5.5? Can anyone tell me for sure if they will work without any modifications? Don't want to invest in this package and have them powder coated only to find out that one of these manufactures of the steel rims were wrong. If they will work in either a 15" or 16", has anyone found a mfg. of the old school raw smoothie steel wheel in 16"?
Thanks!
