It's much easier if you start with a little better image. You have to manualy touch up the uneven color in the primer. And a lot of detail is lost in the dark areas.

If you start with a clean image, just select the area you want to paint, and copy that to a new layer. Then you can mess with different color and hue fills, adjust the RBG, levels, etc. until you get it to look like what you want...

Here's what I could do with your image... I think it's a brighter blue than you asked for, but you get the idea. I had to do a lot of extra stuff to get it to look half decent.

no disrespect to jeff. i just thought id give it a try. i tried to even out all the discoloration in the primer and i shaved the handles to give it that extra little kick. lol

I did a lot of stuff to that pic. Shaving (clone tool), clear corners (desaturate/levels), billet grilles (line tool), wheels (cut and paste and a little coloring, also re-cut the center on the rear to give it a better angle and deep dish look), the 2-tone was by making the top a new layer and adjusting levels, brightness/contrast and/or a fill effect, the graphics were hand drawn, then given some effects (drop shadow, and belel/emboss on the green).
