My 1998 Toyota Tacoma came 4th hand all tricked out, including lowering about 3" in front. I have to replace a broken right front shock. How do I measure and mate a shock to the lowering coils? The existing non-stock shocks are about an inch shorter than stock. The 3/4" of dirt and grease at the top of the piston suggests it never used full length (?), so maybe I could use a slightly shorter shock than the existing? How exact does the length of shock have to be? I'd like fairly stiff sport feel. I will replace both shocks. ANY HELP OUT THERE? SUGGESTIONS FOR A SHOCK THAT WILL WORK? A PLACE TO BUY ONLINE?
